Festive Fun Throughout December

The historic city of Bath truly sparkles during the Christmas season. From the aroma of mulled wine filling the crisp winter air to the glittering lights reflecting off the ancient Roman architecture, it is a city transformed.

If you’re planning a festive break this December there’s no better place to come for a warm winter welcome – and we’ll have a cosy room ready for you at peaceful Toghill House Farm, just a few minutes away from all the action in the city.

Here’s a taste of what’s on in Bath in December and into the New Year:

Bath Christmas Market

It’s the most famous and iconic Christmas market in the South West, with more than 250 chalets run by independent makers, food and drink vendors, artisans and a host of others. This year is the 25th anniversary of this cornerstone of Bath’s Christmas calendar, so it is set to be even more spectacular than ever.

When: 27 November – 14 December 2025

Where: Bath city centre – the chalets and stalls stretch across Abbeygate Street, Bath Street, Milsom Street, and around Bath Abbey.

Opening Times:

  • Monday–Wednesday: 10:00–19:00
  • Thursday–Saturday: 10:00–20:00
  • Sunday: 10:00–18:00

Highlights to watch out for: There will be six Christmas Carts showcasing micro-business from Bath and Bristol. New for this year is a reindeer trail – follow it to discover Bath’s World Heritage architecture. Notice that the market uses biodegradable packaging, and there are incentives to reduce single-use waste (so bring your own reusable cup and get a discount).
