Toghill House Farm is a cosy country B&B with a difference. A working farm with historic buildings, Toghill House Farm is set in a scenic rural landscape, just a few minutes’ drive from the heritage city of Bath in North East Somerset, close to The Cotswolds. The friendly Bishop family welcome guests, and their pets, to Toghill House Farm all year round. Guests can guarantee to be settled in to beautifully decorated, comfortable rooms in the old farmhouse or converted barn, and treated to a traditional English breakfast.

Guests come from near and far; holidaymakers and tourists exploring the many attractions of the area. Business travellers enjoy a tranquil base close to the city, and passers-by stop overnight on their way to a more distant destination. All are delighted to have discovered this warm homely haven.

Here are some of the more recent reviews Toghill House Farm has received:

“I can heartily recommend this farm as a dog-friendly place to stay. It is warm and welcoming. Our family room was very spacious and clean. It had everything you need for your stay, plus cooking facilities if you wanted to cater for yourself. Complimentary hot beverages and toiletries. Own bathroom. The breakfast was served in our room. It was delicious and plentiful. A great choice. It is conveniently located close to Bath and Bristol. Lots of pubs close by which are also dog friendly”

“I stayed here for two nights with some friends last weekend and had the most wonderful stay. Lovely family-run B & B. All very COVID-19 secure and just the best environment! Great advice from the hosts for walks and restaurant options and some fantastic walks. Was amazing to see all the animals and get into the countryside! Well located for access to Bath. Would definitely stay again.”

“Historic old building with monastic links. With stunning hilltop views across the beautiful Cotswolds towards Bath. It has an old water well that is so big that a horse and cart could be driven through it when laid on its side! Lovely family run, good value, working farm/stables B & B. Clean, warm, well-lit three-person bedroom with shower & bath. Full English breakfast did not have particularly high-quality ingredients for a countryside farmhouse B & B, but plenty of it, plus an excellent selection of teas and jams all served in the lovely ground floor dining room.

We were walking the Cotswold Way and whilst this place is a bit of a walking detour from it through a few fields, you can use Google maps satellite view to guide you across the farmers’ fields (you may need to climb a couple of locked gates) and then walk along a busy road with minimal verges for the last 100 metres to the farmhouse.”

“The staff were brilliant and able to cater for additional requests e.g., additional milk for kids. The room had all we needed and they had clearly paid additional attention to cleaning in light of the pandemic. Beautiful view from the room, great pubs nearby, well located for accessing surrounding areas. We also loved being able to walk to see the animals at the end of the driveway.”

– Elizabeth H – August 2020

“Very friendly and helpful staff! Despite the pandemic, we were very lucky to have freshly cooked breakfast in a socially distanced environment. It might not be so easy to access if you don’t have a car, but there are several taxi companies so it is not a big problem.”
