So far this spring Bath has been bathed in glorious sunshine, making the most of the glorious honey-stoned buildings and bringing sparkle to the river and the spa waters. An Easter Spring break in Bath 2025 is all set to be a memorable affair, so if you’re coming our way be prepared to be wowed.
Eat, drink, and make merry at the city’s many restaurants and bars; see the Roman Baths by torchlight; have a belly laugh at the Bath Comedy Festival; hunt for Easter Eggs and follow Easter Trails; even dare to uncover Frankenstein’s secret Bath experience.
We can’t possibly list all the events that crowd out the Easter Calendar in and around Bath this year, but we’ve put together a list of our favourites to whet your appetite …..
2025 Easter Events in Bath
Bath Easter £2 Fair
There’s no better value kid-friendly Easter event in Bath than this fantastic fair at Royal Victoria Park (BA1 2NQ), where you can enjoy traditional and more feisty fairground rides all day every day for just £2 a go.
Open: From 1pm to 9pm all Easter weekend.
Bath Comedy Festival 2025
For the 16th year running Bath plays host to a very funny festival featuring more than 70 shows and 250 performers across the month of April, at core venues like Bath Forum, Upstairs @ Bath Pizza Co, the Ring O Bells and the Guildhall. Headlining the event will be Basil Brush, playing the Legends Spot on Easter Monday, “Live and Unleashed”. Book now to enjoy a rip-roaring Easter laugh in Bath.
Alice in Wonderland Trail at The American Museum
Of course the White Rabbit just had to get in on the Easter act, and together with Alice and her Wonderland friends he’s provided an enchanting experience at the American Museum & Gardens (BA2 7BD), just 10 minutes outside of Bath. It’s open 10am to 5pm and you can expect plenty of activities, woodland walks, creative sessions, costume parades, an afternoon tea party with the Mad Hatter, games and of course, Easter Egg hunting.
Ancient Roman Baths Adventures
Step back 2,000 years and discover the world of Roman Britain at the magical Roman Baths, which is offering a series of special tours and adventures appropriate to different age groups through the Easter holiday period, up to Thursday April 17. This includes the chance to dig for Roman artifacts in a special excavation trench, just like a real archaeologist.
Grown-ups can immerse themselves in special late evening (til 8pm) openings at the Great Bath, when there will be a pop-up bar set up serving drinks by flickering torchlight through the Easter long weekend. The Baths are in the centre of Bath in the Abbey Church Yard (BA1 1LZ).
The House of Frankenstein Museum & Tour
Billed as Bath’s darkest secret is the fact that Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, lived in Bath while she created her gothic masterpiece. Her former home is now a museum. Visit the museum on Good Friday and you can add in an award-winning theatrical walking tour to the price of an entry ticket to follow in Mary’s footsteps. It’s an experience to be remembered, all happening at 37 Gay Street in Bath (BA1 2NT). You can visit the fascinating museum on Sundays to Fridays from 11am to 5.30pm, and on Saturdays between 10am and 5.30pm. Walking tours begin at 2.15pm and 4.15 pm on scheduled days – Good Friday is the last chance until May 27th.
Easter Sunday Raceday at Bath Race Course
There’ll be a day of family fun and thrilling, spectacular horse racing at Bath Racecourse in Lansdown (BA1 9BU) from noon on Easter Sunday. Bring a picnic – there’s free entry for under-18s and a programme of free activities to keep the youngsters entertained while you enjoy the seven exhilarating races that are on the card for the afternoon.
As well as the special events we’ve mentioned, don’t forget that there never need be a dull moment in Bath because the city is packed with historic buildings, entertainment venues, shops, green spaces, attractions, museums, galleries and so much more. Walk some or all of the six-mile Bath Skyline Trail to get a full perspective on this incredible city which we at Toghill House Farm are proud to call home.
