If you’re looking for things to do in and around Bath this summer, we’ve put together six fun and fascinating activities for all families. The centre of Bath is only a 20-minute drive from Toghill House Farm.

  • Summer Craft Days at Beckford’s Tower & Museum

Beckford’s Tower & Museum, Lansdown Road, Bath, Somerset, BA1 9BH

This free event is perfect for bored little ones this summer, without breaking the bank. Running every Thursday, these drop-in craft sessions are for children aged 5 years+ with no need to book. Each session has a dedicated activity including making towers, designing your own coat of arms, making your own storybook, print-making towers, and matchbox treasure drawers.   • Summer Sundays: Free family Pop-Up Astronomy Event

Join the Herschel Museum, Herschel Society and Bath Astronomers on August 7th to learn about the ingenious Herschel Family of astronomers, who revolutionised the way we view space and astronomy in the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum is hosting solar astronomy-themed activities that are great for little and big would-be astronomers a-like. This free event requires no booking, simply turn up on the day.   • Bath Comic Con and Gaming Festival

If you and your family are huge TV and film fans, Bath Comic Con is a great way to spend a day in Bath. Located on the Bath University campus, the event promises fun activities, gamins, cosplay, prop photo-ops and so much more. Children aged 13 years and under must be accompanied by an adult, with all under 16s highly recommended to be accompanied by an adult.   • Come Out & Play at Prior Park Landscape Garden

Get up and out with the kids this summer holidays at Bath’s very own Prior Park. The historic garden is hosting eight different physical challenges across the site, centred around the theme of ‘come out & play.’ Activities include keeping your balance, reaching the top, and beast your best.   • Summer Holidays at Dyrham Park

Dryham Park, Dyrham, near Bath, South Gloucestershire, SN14 8HY

Entertain the kids this summer holiday at Bath’s very own Dryham Park. The 270-acre is hosting eight different physical challenges across the site, centred around the theme of ‘come out & play.’ Activities include keeping your balance, hitting the target, and skipping and jumping.   • Beyond Beastly: Creatures Natural and Imagines at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution.

The Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution invite you to meet some familiar and not-so-familiar fantastical creatures taken from the pages of great historical books and boxes of specimens in a new and exciting exhibition.
